A Fantastical Escape to The Flood, The Fire and other F-words...

A Fantastical Escape to The Flood, The Fire and other F-words... strips thousands of photographs of their significance. This installation crumples and layers photos and sounds from the three artists' archives, creating a forest floor of imagery and sound where things de/re/compose.
A collaborative installation with Donna Akrey (CA), Annika Grill (FR) and Yvette Poorter (NL).  Photos, staples, soundscape (2012).
"The beautifully titled A Fantastical Escape to The Flood, The Fire and other F-words ... consisted of simple pictures of gardens and grass and other nature that were stapled together to form wondrous shapes. He who crawled through a narrow door saw two dogs, also composed of the backside of photos. A sound track coming from below the installation put it in a suitable bath of natural sounds. So arose a picture of nature that was a collage of our own ideas and images about nature, and ultimately questioned whether 'nature' is not a cultural construction that says more about us than nature."
